Program Overview

Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme

A comprehensive scholarship program for meritorious Nepali Undergraduate students, supported by the Embassy of India to foster educational excellence and cross-cultural academic collaboration. The Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme provides financial support to outstanding Nepali students pursuing their undergraduate education in multiple streams like MBBS/ BDS BE/B.Tech /B.Arch/BAMS, BA/BSc/BBM/BBA (Other 3-year courses)

The notification for Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme (MGSS) was published on 03 October 2025. The online application form can be submitted through the web portal www.goischolarship.com.np
from 06 October 2025 to 02 November 2025. The portal will close at 00:00 hrs on 03 November 2025, and applicants must submit their forms by 23:59 hrs on 02 November 2025.

Eligibility Requirements

   Citizenship

   Must be a Nepali citizen with valid Birth Certificate or citizenship certificate (student or parent)

   Academic Standing

   Regular 1st Year undergraduate student in recognized institution with minimum 70% or GPA >2.8 in Class 12 (excluding Class 11 marks)

   Age Requirement

Must be between 17 to 22 years of age as on July 1st 2026

   Income

   Family income below NPR       200,000/year.  Better to keep 1,50,000 – 1,90,000

  1. Student Citizenship (Not Mandatory)

  2. Father Citizenship (if Nepali – Notary)

  3. Father Citizenship (if English)-Notary Not Required

  4. Mother Citizenship (English)

  5. Recent passport size colour photograph in white background 

  6. Class 12 Mark Sheet Original Photocopy (Notary)

  7. Class 12 Grade Conversion Document

  8. Income Certificate (Notary)

  9. 1st year Principal Recommendation Letter (Notary)

  10. Physically Disabled Certificate

Note: All file should be JPG or JPGE and Size should be 500KB and Email and Password should be kept safe

A Nepal SBI Bank account will be opened in the student’s name through the Embassy. The scholarship amount will be directly deposited into this account by the Embassy. Students can withdraw the money using the ATM card provided by the bank for course duration.

How to Apply for GJSS 2025–26

Renewal Process

Scholarship automatically renews for next year upon successful completion of current year. Students must maintain good academic standing i.e. should not fail in any semester & should submit required documents by December 31st each year.

Selection based purely on Class XII academic performance

Renewal Criteria

  • Must pass current year.
  • Submit all renewal documents on time.
  • Non-submission = cancellation.

After Selection

  • Set up bank account as instructed
  • Receive direct scholarship deposits
  • Submit renewal documents by Dec 31st 2026 ( Refer Sample Video)

No interviews or entrance exams required! The entire process is merit and document-based.
